Snow Man Contest

The Great American

Snowman Contest!

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to make an Award-Winning Snowman this winter?

If you answered “Yes, Sir! I do think I’ve got what it takes to make an award-winning snowman!” then baby – this is the contest for you!

What do I have to do to win?

  1. Build a Snow Man.
  2. Show Proof you built it, and publish it on your blog, preferably standing beside it.
  3. Leave a comment here with a link to your post so we can all see your masterpiece.

What If it doesn’t SNOW where I live?

No worries, mate! If you are on the opposite side of the world, and experiencing the sweltering tropical heat of summer, just get creative! Anything you think might impress the judges – which will be everyone.

What Will I win, if I win?

  • Bragging Rights
  • A Guest Post here at Spectrum Woman, describing your experience as a winner, and your awesome snowman construction techniques.
  • Whatever Great Prize is inside this Mystery Box →

So, Don’t Delay!

With all of this Global Warming, this may be the last snow any of us ever sees again, and, therefore, the Last Snowman Contest in History!

Be the Winner your parents always told you you’d never be! Prove to your First Grade Teacher, once and for all, that just because you wet your pants during that spelling bee, doesn’t mean you’re a complete idiot! You can manipulate snow into frosty sculptures of epic proportions! Silence your nagging spouse with an Award that will surely impress even your harshest critics! Teach your kids the critical snowman-building skills necessary to succeed at life!

Be A Winner. Build a Snowman!

Official Entries:

The first remarkable entry is from Barb at When Morning Breaks - who has used local rain as her medium:

Then, of course, there’s my Marshmallow Snowman – a result of being snow-deprived around these parts:

And, here’s Contestant #3: Elephants Child has created what she is describing as a ‘Feminist’ snow WOMAN! Who has apparently burned her bra (she’ll regret that decision in a few years, when her snowboobs lose their battle with gravity). Those fluttering eyelashes will be hard for the male snowmen to compete with.

Darla, of “She’s a Maineiac” fame has just entered this little group of mini (and maybe bloody) snowmen”

Those poor little baby snowmen don’t look like they stood a chance.

Here is an entire Snowman scene, courtesy of the artful and snacky Thoughts Appear:

How’s that for some Zombie Snowman on Snowman action! Plenty of sweets, a pair of St. Patricks Day themed SnowBall marshmallow bushes (I think) dead gummy bears who unfortunately got in the way of the action, and some Cadbury Easter Eggs, to get us all in the mood for Easter. Kudos to Thoughtsy for going all out and crafting an entire snowman scene, which you can read more about in her post here.

Just a few more days for your last desperate entries, as it will now close on March 31st…

  2. Prepare yourselves.
The Bestest Snowman -Not just in America–But the World will appear on January 2.

    • This sounds confident and promising. A World Cup-Level Snowman? I will gather together my slippers, specs, coffee and Zanax, as I flip up my computer screen on 1/2/12 to see the phenonenom you foretell…

  4. Thanks Spectra for posting a picture of the slippery Mr. Rainy, the Pre-Snowman (some freezing needed). He likes long walks in the rain and is searching for a torrential relationship.

    • Ha ha – torrential relationship . So far, you’re the only entry! So, I can confidently say, You are in the lead :D

  6. Nope. The SnowWoman from down under deserves the prize. All of the prizes in fact. See her here

    • She sure is a Beauty! She may well win all 3 prizes! This entry just elevated the contest standards. Guess I better get busy and start to post the prizes – to up the ante, as they say.

    • I don’t recall being that vain. Sorry, I was obviously channelling the SnowSlut (EssEss). She really, really doesn’t like to be thwarted. It makes her cold and hard and mean.

  7. Hello Spectrum Woman – we (me and my husband Bob – The Snowman Expert) have really been enjoying your blog and we wanted to let you know that your Snowman Contest is now linked to the Today’s Snowman blog at: http://www.historyofthesnowman.com/2012/01/snowman-contests-are-heating-up.html
